In the spring of 2018, I accepted an internship with GeorgiaLink, that prepared me for my future career in more ways than I could imagine. At the time, as a recent graduate, I had no idea what was in store for me. The excellent partners at GeorgiaLink always pushed us to achieve the best and were there to support us in any way they could. The team was always sure to carve out opportunities for me to grow, and build relationships with state leadership. I interned at GeorgiaLink right after completing my undergraduate degree and before law school. Trip, Skin, Boyd, and Cherry always treated me like a member of the team -- it was an incredible experience.  I witnessed firsthand the value of legislative engagement and strategic thinking.  My experience as an intern set the stage for my interest in business and state/local government. I started at GeorgiaLink in late 2019 as a new college graduate with no experience working in the state house or in lobbying, and in the seven months I worked as an intern, the exposure the firm offered me into state politics was unrivaled. From organizing meetings with leadership, to covering committee meetings and briefing the team, from day one, they pushed me to work independently and take ownership in my role. I will always say, working at GeorgiaLink was the cornerstone I've built my career off thus far and an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in working in the Georgia political landscape.

Interning with GeorgiaLink Public Affairs has truly been a blessing for me when it comes to learning in depth about government affairs, and professional development. Position: Health Policy Advisor

In this role, I make recommendations and conduct research for the Senator in the areas of healthcare, education, and veterans policy. I credit my internship with GeorgiaLink during the Spring 2016 Legislative Session with giving me the tools, introductions, and experience necessary to work in a position on Capitol Hill. As Skin Edge said on our  intern class' first day - this internship "will show you how a bill really becomes a law.

Position: Commercial Real Estate Attorney

I had a great experience at GL. Trip, Boyd, and Skin were great mentors. From Sine Die, committee meetings, and fundraising, I learned how legislation gets done at the state capital. I carry the experiences, lessons, and connections made during my time at GL to this day. I feel like I could call Trip this morning and he’d pick or return my call, and I interned in 2019.

It taught me how to understand and accept differing viewpoints, and the one thing that brings us all together - money. A memory that stands out to me is Yellow Rose Day, where we passed out flowers in honor of women’s suffrage.
